DJ Feature - Giovanni Dario

He subtly rocks any party with his cool demeanor, and his mixing abilities speak volumes. Giovanni Dario has been with SSS for about 3 years now, and it all started when his mom hired us for her 25th year anniversary party. Gio tagged along with his mom to meet with Levar at our office for her in-person consultation. He has always had a love for music, so when Vinny mentioned SSS was hiring while he was there, it was a no brainer for Gio to apply. The very next day he called Vinny and said, “When can I schedule an interview?” Gio was an instant match with our team and actually shadowed Vinny at the Charlotte City Club for his first gig. He remembers between the music, the dance party, and the uplights that everything was “so cool”. Giovanni is recently engaged to his fiance Holly, so guess who his chosen DJ company is for his own big day! From the second they solidified the date, Gio was sure to lock in DJ Charlie, as well as our Client Concierge Service. We wonder if he’ll be abl

Vendor Spotlight of the Week - Jackie Fogartie Events

As a full-time wedding planner, you can be hit with anything and everything to make a bride’s day absolutely perfect. Many women dream of becoming a wedding planner without knowing it is more than all the glitz and glam. It takes a strong personality, a calming demeanor, and organizational skills that go above & beyond - That is Jackie Fogartie through and through. Jackie is the owner of her own company “Jackie Fogartie Events” and has been a planner in Charlotte for seven years now. Jackie had actually always dreamed of being a lawyer. Her first job after college was a paralegal but her first year in law, she realized she did not want to pursue that field. She got engaged and used a wedding planner to assist her - Soon realizing that wedding planning was really a career. She began booking small events never thinking she would be a full-time wedding planner. When someone of her talent comes along in this industry, the natural skills take over and now she is one of the top plan

DJ Feature - Levar Gladden

You know him, you love him, and SSS is lucky to have him as a part of our family for 12 years now! As one of our Elite MC/DJs, Levar’s requests and reviews are one of the most consistent we have ever had. With his wife Eneida and his sweet baby boy Wesley as his support system, he has made an impact on our company & industry more than most - And he was the chosen DJ for both NBA All-Star Player Steph Curry & Panther’s Captain Munnerlyn and Tre Boston’s weddings! He has been a man of the music since he was a kid writing his first rap at the age of 9, learning to play the trumpet at 12, and getting involved in the producing side of it all at 17. It just would not feel right to Levar if he was not in the music and entertainment industry. He learned firsthand from owner Vinny Esposito as well as other guys in the company to grow musically over the years. His ability to produce music makes it easier for him to transition into reading the crowd for parties and understand how th

Vendor Spotlight of the Week - Mint Museum Uptown

As one of the most recognized icons in Uptown Charlotte, the Mint Museum Uptown is a name all Charlotteans know and love. The convenience to all the major hotels and convention center makes it sought after by many. Their cultural and high image is unmatched whether hosting an event or touring the museum. Tom Martin serves as the Director of Special Events to oversee all rentals, venue & beverage services, and vendor management marketing. Weddings are the bread and butter of this space due to the very classic, beautiful style that eludes Charlotte history. DJ Feature - Chris Pounds

While all of SSS MC/DJs are exclusive, Chris Pounds is also our full-time DJ, so we are sure you have seen his face around at many of our events! When first moving to Charlotte, he DJ’d at the same club every Friday for 3 months knowing every song that would be played after the next, after the next. That situation was not allowing Chris to take his craft to the next limit, which led him to inquiring with Split Second. Although his mixing was top notch, he still completed our training process to learn how to run a wedding, master his coordination & interaction, and truly learn the SSS way and understand the SSS brand. Chris’ love for spinning started at a gymnasium party 30 years ago. He saw a friend on the turntables, began learning the fundamentals of spinning & creating music, and started his official DJ career in his early 20s. He puts high emphasis on himself on how to not just get guests on the dance floor, but keep them there all night. He pushes himself to entertain by

Vendor Spotlight of the Week - Lisa Pleasant Events

Split Second Sound has had the opportunity to work alongside some incredible individuals over the years and one of our favorites has to be Lisa Pleasant of Lisa Pleasant Events. Her story is not the typical “just love planning weddings” story. She went to school for Economics, Spanish, and Mathematical Finance and started working on the back end of an algorithmic trading firm after school. Very soon after, she took over a club promotions company that fell into her lap where her natural bubbly personality was showcased, but her true calling came when her brother got engaged. When he asked for her help, she fully dove into the task and loved the challenge and decided to start her own company shortly after. Her love for being a planner starts with the logistics that come with planning as she is a self-proclaimed “math nerd.” Spreadsheets, floor plans, organization, and pulling all of it together are her strengths and make up her passion for what she does. Her math skills on top of being
