DJ Spotlight of the Week- Ben Deese

Ben is the perfect example of a DJ who wanted to be a part of something bigger than just himself. Vinny actually met Ben at a bridal show where he had his own DJ booth setup for his own company. He was not too far from us, so when our team started dancing and having a great time, Ben just could not hold himself back from joining in with us. After some chatting, Vinny asked him how many weddings he is a part of and if he would like to be a part of even more. Ben was instantly intrigued with the SSS success rate, values, and family atmosphere that he knew he wanted to know more about becoming an Exclusive SSS MC/DJ. After multiple interviews, many months of our training process, and shutting down his own company, Ben was promoted to a Lead in our company. He knew how to mix, but what separates SSS from the rest is more than JUST music. It is the coordination, MC skills, crowd reading, preparation, and so much more. Coming from owning his own DJ business to being a part of the lar

DJ Spotlight of the Week - Jonny Piscitelli

Jonny got started in the music business working at Kiss 95.1 here in Charlotte, NC in the promotions department at Kiss 95.1 and K-104.7 doing live events and "Remotes" in the business. He eventually he worked his way up to being On the Air as “Jonny Tango”. In October 2006, Jonny was having lunch in the break room at the station when he struck up a conversation with one of his producers who used to work for SSS. Jonny says, “We got to talking about our plans for the weekend, and he mentioned he would be DJ'ing a wedding at Firethorne Country Club that Saturday.” That piqued his interest, so that Saturday Jonny tagged along, and the next weekend he did a wedding with Vinny and Neil at the Charlotte Speedway Club, and the rest is history! Vendor Spotlight of the Week- The Farm at Brusharbor & The Farmstead

This week we are going to shine our spotlight on one of our favorite rustic venues in North Carolina! The Farm at Brusharbor and their newest venue, The Farmstead, are located in Mt. Pleasant, NC. The barns are located on the family’s 350-acre working cattle farm, but that does not mean they are not up to wedding par. Both are climate controlled and have multiple ceremony site options for happy couples. The rustic feel of the farm is the perfect venue for an outdoor wedding with an inside barn reception. The scenic views and sunsets are absolutely breathtaking making it the perfect wedding backdrop. The venues are both completely referral based, which proves their constant positive reviews! We understand how important being a referral based company is, and we personally have never had less than an outstanding experience with either venue and their entire team.  Photo Credit: Angela Tucker Photography The team at this family farm are nothing short of amazing! Office Feature- Sarah Dyke

This week we are shining our spotlight on our very own West Virginia gal! You all know her, love her, and frequently see her out and about representing our Split Second Sound name! Her creativity, thought, and effort she puts into each one of our events is unmatched! Not only does she work with each bride and groom to ensure they have the perfectly matched DJ and tunes for their wedding day, but she also contributes to the light-hearted fun in the office environment. Sarah, our Brand & Event Manager, has worked at Split Second Sound for almost two years and handles the event planning, sales, branding, and networking. Sarah moved to Charlotte two years ago for a job she ended up hating because she was limited in creativity and had no social interaction. A friend of Sarah’s reached out to Vinny to see if he knew of anyone hiring to get back into the industry she loves, and Vinny set up what was supposed to be a short phone call with him to see what she was about. Sarah says, “V

DJ Spotlight of the Week - Mike Glass

Mike Glass comes to us at SSS for many years, but has always been involved with music since he was a young boy. He grew up playing the piano and saxophone from elementary to high school, but eventually his brother started a DJ group and he tagged along. He DJ’d his way through high school and college and does not plan on stopping anytime soon. Why give up on such a unique talent that you have such a passion for?! When Mike moved to Charlotte as a teacher, he took a 10K pay cut. He was looking for a way to make extra money and returning to his DJ roots seemed like the best route. Mike says, “I was fortunate enough to respond to an ad and had an opportunity to interview with Vinny. What stuck out to me was the sense of family he portrayed. DJs were sticking with Split for 10 years and beyond. With the crazy egos we DJs can have, you have to be a good person to keep people around that long.” Mike’s flexibility makes him stand out within our company. Mike says, “You can find
