Office Feature- Rachel Stanford

Rachel has worked with Split Second Sound for almost two years now! She got started in the industry while attending college at Johnson & Wales University where she took a Weddings & Events class with her favorite teacher (Kimberly Rosenbaum). Rachel says, “I fell in love with everything to do in the wedding industry. Vinny and Sarah were guest speakers in my class. I reached out to them and started working part time with SSS while I was still in school and became full time once I graduated.”

Rachel’s favorite part about being in the wedding industry is getting to know all the vendors. It takes an amazing team to pull together someone’s dream event, and Rachel believes that Split Second Sound has lasted so long in the industry because of our consistent reputation. She says, “I think what makes SSS stand out as the best is that we are mostly referral based. Word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertisement. We are our biggest competition and always want to go over our own goals every year.”
Rachel defines hard work as always giving it your all no matter how tired you are and never stop trying. She looks up to her mom and dad most in her life. Rachel considers herself very lucky in life as she says, “I have amazing parents that always supported me no matter what I wanted to do with my life. I have amazing friends that I do not know what I would do without. I graduated from college with a job in the field that I wanted to be in instantly, and my co-workers are fantastic.”
Rachel brings so much to the table within our company whether in the office, as one of our top Client Concierge gals, or working alongside the DJs as one of their favorite assistants. She is sweet as can be, would give you the shirt off her back, and takes great pride in everything she does. We never knew how much we needed this chocolate milkshake loving lady, but we sure are honored to have her as ours!

Vendor Spotlight of the Week - Henry Connor Bost House

Henry Connor Bost House is a property that once visited, nothing compares. Located only 6 miles from Salisbury and built in 1869, Henry Connor Bost House has been a family owned property since 1961, which they used as a vacation home. In 1993, the property was carefully renovated by Dr. and Mrs. Donald Lomax in order to move to the farm permanently, but the original heart pine floors, original woodwork, brickwork, and even some original glass in the windows still remain. With one parent deceased and the other in assisted living, Laurie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lomax, decided to turn it into a venue about 2.5 years ago, which she partially manages along with her brothers and sisters. With 135 acres of land, this fully renovated land is private and protected by the Land Trust of Central NC, so the land can never be developed which allows it to always be a historic farm. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Henry Connor was an officer in the civil war,...
