SSS Weekend Supervisor- Laura Russell

Laura Russell, our weekend supervisor, joined the Split Second Sound Family over a year ago, and she fit right in instantly! Have you ever wondered when the heck SSS takes a break?! The answer is NEVER - We just take turns making sure every single detail is covered!

Laura is in charge of coordinating all SSS events on the weekends by using our batline (AKA the SSS iPhone) to ensure everyone is where they are supposed to be at the right time! Our DJs arrive on site to all events hours before and are required to "check in" with Laura in the case of emergency. Laura also handles and responds to our weekend emails and inquiries helping to keep SSS's response time as fast as possible!

She enjoys being a part of the music industry because music defines so many of the memorable moments in our lives. A song can transport us to any point in history and being a part of those moments is truly an honor. Laura believes that SSS stands out as the best because of our perfect blend of passion, family, and respect. Laura says, “SSS has all the ingredients of any successful company. It is built on the shoulders of those who have a passion for what they do and strive to be the best. It continues to be built by those who treat it with respect and understand they are part of something very special. The ingredients come together to make a business that is family, friends, and professionalism.”

Laura looks up to her dad most in life. Laura says, “He taught me so much of what I know with patience and kindness. His spirit for learning, fighting for what is right, and always looking at life with goal to improve the world around him is why I became a middle school teacher.” Laura is motivated to continue helping SSS be a top contender because she knows how important it is for everyone to have someone they can trust with their special day. She looks forward to seeing the company continue to grow the opportunities it creates for all those involved.

We are beyond thankful to have had Laura come into our lives. She genuinely enjoys talking with all of our clients, setting up times for them to come in and learn more about SSS, and making sure every single event of ours is taken care of. It's all about the details and going that extra step here at SSS, and Laura embodies that to the fullest!

My favorite part is that I am able to help out the office team, so they can have the weekends with their families and friends. When a future client reaches out on a Friday night and I am able to have them set up with an appointment the next week, so they can relax. Vendor Spotlight of the Week - Henry Connor Bost House

Henry Connor Bost House is a property that once visited, nothing compares. Located only 6 miles from Salisbury and built in 1869, Henry Connor Bost House has been a family owned property since 1961, which they used as a vacation home. In 1993, the property was carefully renovated by Dr. and Mrs. Donald Lomax in order to move to the farm permanently, but the original heart pine floors, original woodwork, brickwork, and even some original glass in the windows still remain. With one parent deceased and the other in assisted living, Laurie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lomax, decided to turn it into a venue about 2.5 years ago, which she partially manages along with her brothers and sisters. With 135 acres of land, this fully renovated land is private and protected by the Land Trust of Central NC, so the land can never be developed which allows it to always be a historic farm. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Henry Connor was an officer in the civil war,...
