He has built his own name within the name of Split Second Sound to earn his spot in our Elite Series as one of the most requested MC/DJs in our company. Jonah Pearl is his name and once you see him in action, he is impossible to forget!
Jonah started his music career when he answered a Craigslist ad from Split Second Sound in 2009. SSS was looking for a party motivator and with Jonah’s smile and personality, we knew he was perfect for the job from the beginning! After six months working as a party motivator, Vinny asked Jonah if he was interested in being trained to be a DJ. Jonah was all for that idea and began training right away. Jonah was with Split Second Sound for a year and a half before he was promoted to Lead DJ status and he’s been breaking records with us ever since. “My favorite part of my job? I have found a way to make a living by celebrating with people.... What’s not to love?!”, Jonah says.

Jonah credits his success with SSS to always doing his best and applying the Golden Rule. “By treating my fellow DJs how I would like to be treated, a mutual respect can be built. By interacting with fellow vendors, how I would prefer to be interacted with, we all find a groove that allows everyone to work within their comfort zones, hopefully promoting maximum efficiency. Finally, by treating my client’s special day with as much care and thoughtfulness as I would prefer they would give my event if the roles were reversed allows me to fully immerse myself into the experience,” Jonah says. Jonah’s constant referrals and positive reviews make us proud that he is in our Elite Series.
Jonah always knows the music he plays and puts conscious thought into each and every song by paying attention to the vibe. As a Lead DJ, Jonah knows how important it is to have the ability to read the crowd. He is known to get out from behind the booth and dance with the crowd if the mood calls for it! We love this about Jonah, after all, not all DJs dance! ;) He ensures that each couple has a unique experience by meeting with them before their event to ask questions to really get to know the bride and groom off paper.

We asked Jonah how he would define hard work, he said, “Hard work is really any kind of work that is not easy to the person doing the work. Something could be hard work due to the necessary amount of physical labor needed to put into it, or the amount of thought needed to solve an equation. I'm sure building Hoover Dam was hard work, yet could we not say that it was also hard work for Einstein to figure out the theory of relativity? Perhaps hard work could be defined as anything that you invest yourself into greatly.” Jonah’s Lead DJ status definitely proves that he is a hard worker and true to his words.

You have already learned all about how Jonah is as a DJ, but have we mentioned what an impact he has on our brand?! Jonah does all the new hire orientations and initial workshops for SSS. After the interview process with our owner & managers, potential new hires work directly with Jonah to learn about not only our equipment, but also what it means to be a representative of our company, our expectations, and our guidelines. We trust Jonah’s input and opinion tremendously as he has never let us down.
Jonah loves to keep up with a little friendly competition and keeps an eye on who has the most requests within SSS. At the end of the day, he feels as if he is only competing with himself though. He says, “I just want to continue having a blast with all of these incredible people who choose to have me as a part of their vendor team”. He enjoys being a part of SSS, a team that encourages growth towards Split Second Sound becoming a nationally known brand.
