Vendor Spotlight of the Week- Founders Hall

Founders Hall is based out of Bank of America Global Headquarters as they are owned by the bank and part of the bank. Founders Hall offers in- house catering through two options, Aria and City Smoke, as both are attached to Founders Hall directly. Aria is modern Italian and City Smoke offers modern rotisserie cooking. If you have never visited this venue or tried the entrees at both restaurants, stop what you are doing and go now. We promise you will not be disappointed!!

Jenny Ross, Sales Director at Founders Hall, has worked at this spectacular space for about three and a half years now. Although each day is always something new and exciting in this industry, Jenny says her favorite thing about being in the industry is the instant gratification she gets from her clients. “When I see the client walk in and see their expectations exceeded right on the spot, and seeing our clients thrilled with everything you have done right in front of their face is the best feeling!” she says.

Jenny and the team at Founders Hall including her main gal Mariah Fermil believe their attention to detail is what makes them a strong contender in the industry. Jenny and Mariah are event professionals in a world of food. Jenny says, “We care about every aspect of the day running smoothly. We come from all angles to an event to make sure it goes off without a hitch. How an event is viewed and should be executed is one of a kind.” Jenny looks for reliability in preferred vendors. Split Second Sound is the only DJ company that Jenny will recommend. She knows we will show up and give the client great service every single time.

You can find one of our Split Second Sound DJs at Founders Hall just about every weekend providing for ceremony, cocktail, and/or reception, but we also have our Client Concierge Service there all the time, too! Jenny strongly recommends a day-of coordinator for weddings because having a day-of coordinator takes the stress off from the bride. When brides have a point person, they do not have to worry about logistics and making everything flow smoothly themselves. Jenny says, “Offering the Client Concierge service was such a smart business move of Split Second’s. It makes our jobs easier knowing that someone will be there to handle everything needed in a professional way. We trust these girls that do that service and are confident in the work they will do. I will always recommend it for my brides as a must have!”

Jenny is excited about future opportunities at Founders Hall. “Our main goal is to work to really refine our self not only as a venue, but catering company in Charlotte,” she says. They want to exceed their client’s expectations and provide top of the line event experience. We know that goal will absolutely be achieved as they do that every event now. We are huge fans of Jenny & the entire Founder’s Hall team and consider it a great honor to be the only DJ company they recommend.

Vendor Spotlight of the Week - Lisa Pleasant Events

Split Second Sound has had the opportunity to work alongside some incredible individuals over the years and one of our favorites has to be Lisa Pleasant of Lisa Pleasant Events. Her story is not the typical “just love planning weddings” story. She went to school for Economics, Spanish, and Mathematical Finance and started working on the back end of an algorithmic trading firm after school. Very soon after, she took over a club promotions company that fell into her lap where her natural bubbly personality was showcased, but her true calling came when her brother got engaged. When he asked for her help, she fully dove into the task and loved the challenge and decided to start her own company shortly after. Her love for being a planner starts with the logistics that come with planning as she is a self-proclaimed “math nerd.” Spreadsheets, floor plans, organization, and pulling all of it together are her strengths and make up her passion for what she does. Her math skills on top of being...

Emily Brandewie has been a Catering Sales Manager for The Ballantyne for four years. She, along with the dedicated team at the venue, strive to make the guest’s experience one that is unforgettable. “We do it all here at Ballantyne!” Emily says. “Whether it is a corporate event, team building, rehearsal dinner, glow-in-the-dark night putting, or wedding weekend, our team is ready to exceed expectations!” Since opening in 2001, Ballantyne Hotel boasts 199 rooms in the main hotel, a 35 bedroom mountain-inspired Lodge, and a 4 bedroom private Cottage. The property offers an 18-hole public golf course, full-service spa, award-winning restaurant and 22,000 sq ft of event space. Emily gave us the sneak peek on some upcoming renovations happening this summer and, let me tell you, it’s not something you want to miss. The expected completion date is mid-September, and we cannot wait to see it all! As part of her career in hospitality, Emily has worked in several different cities. To no ...
