Vendor Spotlight of the Week- Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

Located in Belmont, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens is the perfect venue for weddings, corporate events, adult & kid birthday parties, and celebrations of any kind. The 110-acre venue has multiple themed gardens that would be a stunning backdrop for any event. The space was purchased in 1991, but did not open for wedding spaces until 2003. Since then, hundreds of couples have put their special day in DSBG’s hands for a multitude of reasons.

If you have not visited the grounds, we highly encourage you to as the beauty is unreal! On top of the gorgeous backdrops, the faces behind the success of the venue are always going above and beyond for every event. The Event and Sales Coordinator Aly Bridwell works with each bride and groom to ensure their wedding day is picture-perfect. She handles it all from the inquiry to the venue tours to working with all vendors of the event.

Aly’s favorite event that she has been a part of at DSBG was a memorial service. She says, “A guy’s wife passed away. We knew he was in a tough place. We worked with him to get a good price, so he could have it in the gardens where his wife would have enjoyed it.”
Aly has been in the event industry for about four years now. She says “The look you see on a bride’s face at the end of the day when you know they are happy and satisfied is incredible. Just knowing that we were a part of making that happen is the best feeling.” The staff is all intertwined at DSBG, so you can work with anyone and get the best customer service that makes you feel welcome from the moment you are greeted to your event.

Aly and the team at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens love working with Split Second Sound. When looking for preferred vendors, Aly wants people who live up to their mission to create an inspiring, unforgettable garden experience. Aly says, “SSS makes it easy for me. They always make everything go smoothly and help create a great event”. SSS was the hired DJ Entertainment for the first wedding Aly did at DSBG. She said if she was missing anything, our team helped her out. That is what vendor teamwork is all about in our books!!

This venue is just getting started though as the expansions never end. Whether it is new exhibits or renovating bridal suites and the white garden, anything they can do to make it a better experience for clients, they will do. We are always excited to receive a referral from this incredible venue and never get tired of creating memories for customers there. Working alongside other vendors who are so well respected but also enjoyable to be around makes another day “in the office” not even feel like work. We value our relationship with this team tremendously and admire them for all the reasons above.

Vendor Spotlight of the Week - Lisa Pleasant Events

Split Second Sound has had the opportunity to work alongside some incredible individuals over the years and one of our favorites has to be Lisa Pleasant of Lisa Pleasant Events. Her story is not the typical “just love planning weddings” story. She went to school for Economics, Spanish, and Mathematical Finance and started working on the back end of an algorithmic trading firm after school. Very soon after, she took over a club promotions company that fell into her lap where her natural bubbly personality was showcased, but her true calling came when her brother got engaged. When he asked for her help, she fully dove into the task and loved the challenge and decided to start her own company shortly after. Her love for being a planner starts with the logistics that come with planning as she is a self-proclaimed “math nerd.” Spreadsheets, floor plans, organization, and pulling all of it together are her strengths and make up her passion for what she does. Her math skills on top of being...

Office Feature- Sarah Dyke

This week we are shining our spotlight on our very own West Virginia gal! You all know her, love her, and frequently see her out and about representing our Split Second Sound name! Her creativity, thought, and effort she puts into each one of our events is unmatched! Not only does she work with each bride and groom to ensure they have the perfectly matched DJ and tunes for their wedding day, but she also contributes to the light-hearted fun in the office environment. Sarah, our Brand & Event Manager, has worked at Split Second Sound for almost two years and handles the event planning, sales, branding, and networking. Sarah moved to Charlotte two years ago for a job she ended up hating because she was limited in creativity and had no social interaction. A friend of Sarah’s reached out to Vinny to see if he knew of anyone hiring to get back into the industry she loves, and Vinny set up what was supposed to be a short phone call with him to see what she was about. Sarah says, “V...
