DJ Spotlight of the Week- Rashaad

Rashaad has been with Split Second Sound since 2003. Fifteen years later and he still makes us laugh just as much as the first day he joined the family. There is no one in this world like Rashaad Wynn - We can promise you that!

He got started in the music industry while working at a restaurant when Vinny and his family came in. When their order was ready, Rashaad called out Vinny’s name on the microphone with some flair! Vinny was impressed with Rashaad’s voice and knew he was natural MC that could be trained to be a professional and super fun Wedding MC. Vinny was interested in learning more about Rashaad and offered him to come in to see what Split Second Sound was all about. Rashaad is a natural entertainer which makes him a perfect fit to be one of our most witty and humorous emcees.

When Rashaad is working at weddings and events, he looks for an A-Team vendors with experience. He says, “Hardly any event goes exactly as planned down to every detail, but by the client hiring professional and skilled vendors, there is nothing the team cannot overcome. Experience is needed to overcome situations when they pop up.” He believes hard work is preparing for the worst, but being beyond ready for the best.

Rashaad’s biggest role models are his parents. He says, “Obviously I would not be here without them. As I get older I see the sacrifices they made for me more and more.” Rashaad’s favorite part of his job at SSS is entertaining and helping celebrate special moments in people’s lives. He has made a big impact by training others in the company, and we have no doubt he will continue to do so. He sets the bar high not only within our company, but within the entire city of Charlotte with his unmatched MC skills. He is the perfect balance of interactive and fun but organized and professional.

Vendor Spotlight of the Week - Henry Connor Bost House

Henry Connor Bost House is a property that once visited, nothing compares. Located only 6 miles from Salisbury and built in 1869, Henry Connor Bost House has been a family owned property since 1961, which they used as a vacation home. In 1993, the property was carefully renovated by Dr. and Mrs. Donald Lomax in order to move to the farm permanently, but the original heart pine floors, original woodwork, brickwork, and even some original glass in the windows still remain. With one parent deceased and the other in assisted living, Laurie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lomax, decided to turn it into a venue about 2.5 years ago, which she partially manages along with her brothers and sisters. With 135 acres of land, this fully renovated land is private and protected by the Land Trust of Central NC, so the land can never be developed which allows it to always be a historic farm. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Henry Connor was an officer in the civil war,...
