Vendor Spotlight of the Week- Ballantyne Country Club

The name Ballantyne is a staple in the Charlotte area. It is a brand in and of itself that offers hundreds of houses, restaurants, and of course beautiful wedding venues.

The Ballantyne Country Club is known for its magnificent event lawn and clubhouse for ceremonies and reception with their stunning views. The gardens and acres of rolling hills make this venue picture-perfect for any event you want to have!

Amanda McCleery, Senior Events Manager at Ballantyne Country Club, works diligently to execute each event from beginning to end as she has worked at Ballantyne CC for four years now.

One of Amanda’s favorite events that she planned was the 20th Anniversary Party for the Country Club. She said, “It was fun to celebrate with the members that had been there from the start.” Being a country club, maintaining memberships and their happiness is crucial to the success of the venue itself. In addition to coordinating weddings, Amanda also handles the planning and executing of golf outings, celebrity events, and charity events.

Ballantyne Country Club typically hosts about twenty-six weddings each year. Amanda is very passionate about seeing these events unfold by meeting with the bride and groom initially to learn about their vision, working with them each step of the way to achieve every detail, and celebrating with them by ensuring their day is flawless. The twenty-two year old club has had a lot of recent construction which enables the venue to host more events. The event team really makes Ballantyne Country Club stand out from other venues. When planning an event, the team is by your side from start to finish. The same person works with the client throughout the entire event to guarantee every element of the event is perfect.

The Ballantyne Country Club maintains a very family oriented atmosphere. Amanda enjoys getting to know each family and planning events for big milestones for these families. The planning goes beyond just the day of though. Amanda has gotten to experience a trifecta for one couple in particular. She helped plan the wedding for the couple, then their first baby shower and now is planning their second baby shower. She says, “I enjoy seeing the families grow and building relationships with them.”

When Amanda and the staff are looking for other vendors to recommend to clients, they are looking for vendors that will treat their clients the same way they would. She wants to ensure the vendors are professional, timely, and flexible. Of course, they always love working with Split Second Sound! “When SSS is here, I know I don’t have to worry about anything, and I know that my clients are in good hands,” Amanda says.

Future plans for Ballantyne Country Club include continuing to grow and be one of the number one wedding venues in Charlotte. Our entire team at SSS is excited for another successful (and fun) wedding season with this crew!

DJ Feature - Chris Pounds

While all of SSS MC/DJs are exclusive, Chris Pounds is also our full-time DJ, so we are sure you have seen his face around at many of our events! When first moving to Charlotte, he DJ’d at the same club every Friday for 3 months knowing every song that would be played after the next, after the next. That situation was not allowing Chris to take his craft to the next limit, which led him to inquiring with Split Second. Although his mixing was top notch, he still completed our training process to learn how to run a wedding, master his coordination & interaction, and truly learn the SSS way and understand the SSS brand. Chris’ love for spinning started at a gymnasium party 30 years ago. He saw a friend on the turntables, began learning the fundamentals of spinning & creating music, and started his official DJ career in his early 20s. He puts high emphasis on himself on how to not just get guests on the dance floor, but keep them there all night. He pushes himself to entertain by
